Job Summary
Design, build, and evolve mobile experiences across Spotify's visible consumer surfaces while contributing to reusable mobile foundations and platform capabilities. Support technical initiatives improving scalability, performance, and reliability across the app, collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers to shape product direction. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and experimentation tied to future-facing listening experiences, balancing short-term needs with long-term platform sustainability. Explore modern engineering workflows, including AI-assisted development tools, and drive quality through testing practices and operational excellence. Work within the EMEA region (excluding France) during Central European and GMT time zones.
Required Qualifications
- experience developing Android applications using Kotlin
- awareness of how to build maintainable, scalable, reusable and well-tested software systems
- experience collaborating with engineers and colleagues across disciplines
- care about code quality, testing, documentation, and long-term maintainability
- demonstration of curiosity, ownership, and a willingness to step outside your immediate area of expertise when needed
- curiosity about using modern development tooling, including AI-assisted coding solutions
- growth mindset and continuous look for opportunities to learn, improve systems, products, and team practices
