Job Summary
Android Developer responsible for hands-on Jetpack Compose development to build and maintain scalable native Android apps for a large global retail brand. Own UI and architecture end-to-end, implement production UI and design system components, ensure fast, secure, and reliable apps, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Requires Kotlin, Retrofit/Ktor, Room, Dagger/Koin, Android Architecture Components, Coroutines, and CI/CD proficiency; emphasis on performance tuning, testing strategies, and proactive communication across multiple countries/time zones.
Required Qualifications
- Strong production experience with Jetpack Compose (the main requirement for this account)
- Proven Android development experience using modern best practices and the Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, git-flow, and Git-based collaboration
- Deep technical proficiency with Retrofit or Ktor, Room, Dagger or Koin, Android Architecture Components, and the Coroutines Framework
- A quality mindset beyond the code, with practical knowledge of profiling, performance tuning, security, and memory leak prevention
- Hands-on CI/CD proficiency with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and/or Bitrise
- Fluent in English with the ability to collaborate effectively in global environments, and highly comfortable communicating and designing solutions fluently in Kotlin
