Job Summary

Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose. Plan, gather, and assemble stories on day-of news or special project assignments, coordinating with managers to develop exclusive angles. Develop a network of sources for tips and early access, then write, edit scripts, and complete live shots while holding power accountable. Appear at public events and contribute video, text, and pictures to mobile platforms throughout the day. Work on multiple stories simultaneously under tight deadlines, summarizing information clearly. Report to the News Director and operate mobile transmission devices in all weather conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of reporting and/or anchoring experience
  • Anchor that connects with viewers
  • reporting skills
  • ability to operate mobile transmission devices and use latest technology
  • ability to work in all weather conditions
  • ability to work varied shifts, including overnights and weekends
  • ability to carry up to 50 pounds
  • valid driver's license
  • clear driving record
  • unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
  • ability to deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production

Desired Qualifications

  • Related military experience
