Job Summary
Anchor with on-camera journalism expertise and newsroom leadership to develop, write, shoot, and edit compelling news stories for television and digital platforms. Collaborate with producers to create fast-paced, innovative newscasts, determine content using editorial judgment, and leverage social media to highlight big stories. Responsibilities include writing and posting daily across digital platforms, developing story ideas, and conducting interviews; strong presentation and writing skills are essential. The role emphasizes enterprise reporting, credible fact-finding, and engaging storytelling to serve the audience and community. Requires 1-3 years of news anchor/reporting experience; journalism and/or communications degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Journalism and/or Communication degree preferred
- Minimum 1-3 years news anchor/reporting experience
- Write and post daily on all digital platforms including social media
- Develop story ideas, write, shoot and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting
- Enterprise news stories
- Use editorial judgment to help determine content of the newscasts
- Develop original content through social listening and independent sources
- Deliver on-air news events in an engaging, exciting, and accurate manner
