Job Summary
Report factual daily news stories for broadcast, pitch at least three relevant local stories per shift, and arrange interviews with sources. Shoot, edit, and voice news events and occasional live shots while writing content for web and eMedia platforms. Review copy, correct errors, and ensure all output meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. Research background information to provide complete and accurate reporting. Work any shift with a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience preferred
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
- Experience in news reporting
- Superior on-air presence
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Flexibility to work any shift
- Must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions
