Anchor Construction Corporation - Safety Engineer

Job Summary

Conduct safety audits and engineering-based risk assessments for trenching, excavation, and utility work while performing at least 15 weekly safety inspections documented in HCSS. Analyze site conditions to identify hazards and recommend engineered controls, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards. Develop site-specific safety plans, investigate incidents for root cause analysis, and support safety training programs. Collaborate with project teams and supervisors to implement corrective actions and track safety trends. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, OSHA 30/510 certification, and experience in underground utility construction. Valid driver's license, ability to work outdoors in heavy physical conditions, and bilingual Spanish preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations (especially excavation/trenching)
  • OSHA 30 required
  • OSHA 510 required
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable record
  • Ability to work overtime/weekends as needed
  • Must pass annual drug testing
  • Heavy physical activity required, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working on uneven terrain and active excavation sites

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • OSHA 500 or CHST/ASP/CSP preferred
  • Experience in underground utility or heavy civil construction preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
