Job Summary
Conduct preliminary pathology review and IHC sign-outs for research and clinical specimens, focusing on non-22c3 PD-L1 clones, challenging MMR cases, and predictive biomarkers for antibody drug conjugates. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to answer biological questions and participate in research projects, including digital/remote pathology review, AI initiatives, and new assay validation. Assist the AP Lab Director with CLIA/CAP compliance, proficiency testing, and contractor scheduling while leading workflow improvements for the pathology laboratory coordinator. Perform on-site specimen review in downtown Chicago, with a standard M-F schedule or flexible Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO with a current Illinois medical license and board-certification in Anatomic Pathology
- Minimum of 1-2 years of anatomic pathology (i.e. general surgical pathology or sub-specialty and/or cytopathology) sign out experience preferred, although exceptional recent trainee graduates are also welcome to apply.
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent managerial, organizational, reporting and communication skills
- Experience working in a regulated clinical laboratory environment (CLIA/CAP/NYSDOH/QSR)
- Experience ensuring compliance of a clinical laboratory to regulatory standards
