Job Summary
Build and improve data models supporting lending decisions, pricing, portfolio analysis, and investor reporting. Champion analytics engineering standards while collaborating with analysts, product teams, and backend engineers to transform requirements into robust pipelines. Triage pipeline issues affecting data trust and contribute ideas to enhance transformation efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness using SQL, Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and AI tools. Maintain high standards for data quality, scalability, and maintainability across the UK Motor team's analytical foundation.
Required Qualifications
- Strong data modelling skills
- Good understanding of how analytical datasets should be structured for reliability and usability
- Strong experience with ELT pipelines
- Experience with transformation at scale
- Experience with dbt
- Experience with Snowflake or another modern cloud data warehouse
- Comfort using AI tools effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Fivetran
- Experience with Claude
- Proactiveness in raising areas of data workflows that could be improved
- Ability to suggest solutions for data workflow improvements
- Collaborative working style
- Clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to explain tradeoffs to stakeholders with varying technical depth
