Job Summary
Analytics Engineer responsible for leading end-to-end data analytics initiatives within Scotiabank's Insurance domain, including daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting to senior management, development of KPI dashboards, adoption of AI to transform reporting and process automation, building and automating data pipelines and MIS, integrating new data feeds, data warehouse/infrastructure collaboration, and partnering with IT to ensure timely, accurate reporting and actionable insights for multiple business areas. Requires extensive experience with Python, SQL, SAS, Unix, Mainframe, Power BI and Tableau, ETL processes, data modeling, and strong stakeholder communication across Finance, Actuarial, Sales, Distribution and Compliance.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in Analytics or MIS/Reporting
- 5+ years experience in programming, application development and/or data warehousing
- Detailed experience in Python, SQL, SAS, Unix, Mainframe
- Strong working knowledge of Power BI, Tableau
- Strong experience with AI in automating data preparation, pattern detection and translating data into actionable insights
- Strong knowledge of building models and data infrastructures - ETL, data mining, profiling, cleansing, enriching
- Strong communication skills with clients, vendors and management
