Job Summary
Analytical Technician to join our Foundational Research and Development team. Under guidance of the Senior Analytical Chemist and Technical Director, the technician will perform both standard and specialized chemical analyses to advance research objectives, focusing on chitin extraction and innovative chitosan manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include performing chemical analyses by GPC, FTIR, UV-Vis, titration, total nitrogen by combustion, thermogravimetric analysis, and dynamic viscosity; maintaining laboratory equipment and accurate records; developing and validating new testing methodologies; conducting literature reviews; and prioritizing laboratory safety and green chemistry practices. The role requires collaboration with the Foundational Research Team, strong analytical skills, ability to work independently and within a team, and effective communication to support ongoing projects. Working environment is primarily in a lab/office setting with potential for PPE use and safety-focused duties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field involving analytical chemistry
- 2+ years laboratory experience with analytical chemistry
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude towards sustainable and green practices
