Analytical Chemistry Intern

Job Summary
Log received samples into SLIMS using work orders, analyze all analytical samples using correct procedures, and print sample labels after ensuring proper sorting and boxing. Operate laboratory instrumentation, record daily repairs, maintenance, and calibration, and ensure all data is traceable and stored in relevant files or LIMS. Report technical and managerial problems to the Chemist, adhere to quality directives and ISO17025 standards, and assist with SANAS audits and stock counts. Maintain housekeeping in receiving and working areas, report safety hazards, and participate in Operational Integrity projects. Work in other divisions if requested, assist with employee training, and follow all HSE procedures and Stop Work Authority protocols.
Required Qualifications
- BTech or National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry
- Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics and Science as subjects
- Be a South African citizen (be able to produce a valid South African ID document)
- Be between the ages of 18-30
- Must be currently unemployed
- Must have no criminal record
- Must be willing to relocate to Rustenburg
- Exceptional Computer Literacy (use of MS Office suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Interest in skills development and relevant legislation
- ISO-17

- Strong research skills
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency in completing tasks
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Self-motivated and high level of initiative
