Job Summary
Conduct daily research and produce concise analytical products including update notes, briefings, and field summaries for Western client executives operating in Madagascar. Manage a program cadence aligned with client priorities, identify critical information gaps regarding security and access issues, and meet with government stakeholders and civil society contacts to provide near real-time intelligence. Oversee field researchers to ensure data quality, maintain information databases, and exercise discretion while maintaining analytic integrity. Lead quick-turn request-for-information assignments and manage operational budgets. Requires three to seven years of experience with at least one year in Sub-Saharan Africa and strong French language skills.
Required Qualifications
- Three to seven years of experience
- At least one year of this experience must be spent living and working in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Experience must be spent for a non-governmental organization or in independent journalism
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
- Strong French skills (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Experience briefing and writing analytical products for senior leaders
- Strong ability to synthesize and analyze information quickly and distill it into digestible written format
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Keen understanding for prioritization and time-sensitive requirements
- Experience collaborating with, learning from, and coaching colleagues from diverse backgrounds
- Solutions-oriented and positive attitude
