Analyst, Utility Billing Operations

Job Summary
Manage resident utility billing cycles for assigned properties, ensuring accurate and on-time billing while monitoring sites for missing invoices. Process monthly utility billing, retrieve required submissions, and respond to resident inquiries regarding customer service needs. Collaborate with third parties to audit and upload data into the Cardinal Group platform, and assist communities transitioning to the billing system. Ensure billing methods comply with jurisdictional regulations and lease terms, then compile periodic recovery analysis reports and devise remediation plans. Articulate complex billing scenarios to various audiences and support community managers and portfolio leaders with inquiries. Establish and document standard operating procedures, workflows, and training metrics to operate the platform at scale.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years' experience in utility billing operations
- Working Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and their proper application within the property management and real estate industries
- Strong Working knowledge of the real estate and property management industry, especially with regards to utility billing management, current providers in the space, and the operational impact of utility billing and utility management
- Working knowledge of property management accounting software
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Suite
- Ability to read, analyze, articulate and compile financial reports
- Ability to work independently as well as utilize appropriate escalation protocols
- Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to assist with additional tasks, including improving the company's utility billing and management platforms
- Excellent time management and business correspondence skills
- Ability to work as a team player and respect those you work with
- Ability to embrace change and new ideas
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver office products and supplies of up to twenty (20) pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
