Job Summary
Coordinate shipments, deliveries, and pickups using company assets and third-party transportation providers; assist with load planning, route coordination, and carrier assignments to support on-time delivery; track orders from origin to destination; monitor shipment activity and provide updates to internal teams and partners; support carrier capacity planning during peak periods; monitor carrier performance and escalates issues related to delays, damages, or service concerns; support recovery efforts during service disruptions and weather events; maintain accurate transportation records in Transportation Management Systems; communicate with Distribution Centers, Replenishment, Procurement, Customer Service, and Transportation teams to support daily logistics activities; identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, improve service, and reduce operating costs; preferred education and experience in Logistics or related fields and proficiency with TMS and Excel tools; strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and a customer-service mindset; experience in retail, grocery, or high-volume distribution is considered an asset; commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and accommodation support during the application process; notice about a background check for candidates 18+.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Transportation, or a related field preferred
- 2–3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or a related field
- Exposure to third-party logistics providers, carriers, transportation brokerage, or distribution operations is considered an asset
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, and reporting
- Experience or familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), including Trimble TruckMate and/or Blue Yonder, is considered an asset
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with guidance and support
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders, carriers, and external partners
- Interest in continuous improvement, operational excellence, and cost optimization
- Experience within retail, grocery, food distribution, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or high-volume distribution environments is considered an asset
