Analyst, (Sr.) Renewable Gas

Job Summary
Lead project management, financial analysis, and technical support for planning, siting, and deployment of renewable natural gas assets across Southern Company Gas's regulated and commercial businesses. Conduct economic evaluations using spreadsheet models, develop cost metrics, and perform market intelligence on technology and pricing. Prepare project business cases for enterprise-wide management while negotiating contracts and coordinating with local distribution companies. Manage cross-functional teams to optimize asset performance, ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and drive strategic uses of company RNG resources such as fleet usage and voluntary offtake. Requires 4-7 years of experience, a relevant degree, and ability to visit job sites in rough terrain.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, applied science, mathematics, economics or finance
- 4-7 years minimum experience (Analyst II)
- 7+ years experience (Sr. Analyst)
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Technology development, Project management, Asset management, Financial analysis, Integrated resource planning
- Knowledge of natural gas systems and/or renewable energy
- Must be able to visit job sites, which may be outside in rough or uneven terrain
Desired Qualifications
- An advanced degree is highly desirable, particularly an MBA
- Experience in project development, project management and/or leadership, large capital projects, contract development, contract negotiation and contract management/administration is a plus
