Analyst/Senior Analyst - Energy

Job Summary
Conduct quantitative research and analysis on electricity and power markets, regulatory issues, and litigation matters. Construct, clean, and manage large datasets using Python and Excel while performing statistical evaluation and investigative work with minimal supervision. Prepare memoranda, exhibits, and presentations summarizing findings, and assist in drafting expert reports and testimony materials. Review work product for accuracy and synthesize information from discovery materials, depositions, and public sources. Support fact-checking and backup preparation while collaborating with senior staff and experts under tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Optimization or Engineering
- 2-3 years of experience in energy consulting, economic consulting, electric utility, power markets or a related analytical role
- Experience working with large, messy, or complex datasets
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including the ability to apply statistical concepts
- Proficiency with Python, GAMS, and Excel for data analysis and presentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and meeting deadlines
- Willingness to work a hybrid schedule out of the Washington D.C. office
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of energy market modeling, particularly electricity and power
- Experience supporting litigation, regulatory proceedings, or expert analysis
- Comfort presenting complex quantitative results to non-technical audiences
