Job Summary
Develop and oversee processes for Onboard Event Recorder (OBER) devices, including creating, reviewing, and distributing daily/weekly reports. Manage shop and terminal staff training on proper installation, repair, and inventory while providing guidance to ensure OBER devices operate correctly. Search, trim, transfer, download, distribute, and archive OBER videos, then archive footage for the Claims and Legal Department. Create and manage the QDI/OBER Intranet Communication Website and provide feedback to the Manager of Safety Technology for appropriate actions. Oversee event reporting, evaluations, and equipment needs, offering coaching on the OBER Electronic Logging system and document requirements. Advise upper management on outstanding department issues and provide guidance for resolution.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5 years in the transportation and or logistics industry
- Must have proficient knowledge and skills in operating a computer and utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include: Work, Excel, Power Point and Google application
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Strong attention to details and accuracy
- Ability to accomplish work and prioritize workload with frequent interruptions
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization and external contacts
- Driven to continue development of skills and knowledge
- Possess the ability to analyze and present data effectively
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Must be available after hours and weekends during a Federal or State Compliance Review
Desired Qualifications
- Previous FMCSA rules and regulations were preferred
- Technical experience: managing and troubleshooting onboard recording devices
