Job Summary
Assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of Australian and international businesses across healthcare, consumer products, real estate, professional services, and infrastructure. Collaborate within a flat team to form opinions of value by liaising with financial and legal advisors, including leading investment banks and superannuation funds. Attend client meetings with ASX listed companies and institutional asset managers to gather information pertinent to valuations for financial reporting, M&A, and strategic planning. Execute comparable company and transaction analysis while building DCF models and developing WACCs. Draft reports, including independent expert reports, and monitor financial market databases using platforms such as S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv, IRESS, and Connect4. Receive hands-on mentoring from senior valuations professionals on high-profile independent expert reports.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- potentially starting a CFA or CA
- Related financial advisory experience
- potentially including constructing and reviewing valuation models including: DCF, comparable company, and intangible asset models
- Working knowledge of financial accounting
- Financial modelling skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail for public market reports
- Knowledge of software packages including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
