Analyst, Operational Due Diligence

Job Summary
This role joins a high-performing ODD team responsible for assessing the operational capabilities and infrastructure of UPP’s investment partners. You will participate in non-investment operational due diligence reviews, prepare assessments for leadership, engage with fund managers, collect and review key documents, attend onsite and virtual meetings, identify deficiencies, stay current on industry standards, monitor media for risk signals, and travel for onsite visits as needed. The position offers exposure to hedge funds, private equity, credit, real estate, and infrastructure across multiple asset classes, with a hybrid work arrangement in downtown Toronto and the opportunity to interact with senior leaders and internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- This is an entry level position
- A working knowledge of financial instruments and alternative investment strategies such as hedge funds, private equity and credit, real estate, and infrastructure, as well as more traditional equity and fixed income strategies
- Familiarity with fund operations, fund administration, prime brokerage, audit, legal, compliance and IT is considered an asset
- An undergraduate or advanced degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or a related field
- Candidates working towards CPA, CFA or CAIA designation not required, but an asset
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized and ability to prioritize workload
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team, as required
- Willingness to adapt to change and to remain resilient
- Excellent business / report writing and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams)
