Job Summary
Provide analytical support for inventory valuation reports by conducting due diligence, analysis, and data collection to ensure accuracy. Build valuation models, apply research to consumer products, industrial, retail, or other market sectors, and communicate findings in narrative documents to clients. Perform company and industry analysis on key performance indicators such as inventory productivity, gross margin, and operating expenses. Develop qualitative understandings of nuances affecting asset values, review findings with management, and produce final appraisal reports. Maintain the Appraisal Application database and participate in travel, job inspections, and client meetings. Adhere to USPAP standards and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or related area of study
- Advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel, including pivot tables and advanced functions and formulas
- Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets
- Understanding of inventory and other asset accounting methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A high degree of integrity and business acumen
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to manage multiple projects with a close attention to detail
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Periodic travel
- Become proficient in and adhere to USPAP standards, particularly as they apply to inventory valuations
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years' experience in a business, financial, audit, lending, or consulting environment
- Relevant internships
- Understanding of inventory and other asset accounting methodologies
