Analyst II, Risk Operations (Japanese speaker)

Job Summary
Handle incoming queries and disputes for the Acquiring Platform in Japan, serving as the first point of contact via email, phone, and chat to resolve issues with Acquirers, Issuers, and Schemes networks. Manage the manual dispute resolution process for domestic Mastercard and JCB transactions, coordinate information workflows between merchants and issuing banks, and complete dispute forms, questionnaires, and retrieval requests. Support underwriting and CDD teams by gathering merchant information, running name screenings through JDM and CSRSII, validating 3DS checklists, and conducting onboarding investigations for Anti-Social Forces. Act as an interpreter for Japanese-to-English communication and assist with periodic Anti-Social Forces screenings, fraud monitoring, and METI reporting. Fluency in English and Japanese is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience in credit card/ payments operations, or a Schemes Disputes role
- Fluency in both English and Japanese (written & spoken)
- Demonstrated customer-centricity
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Track record of building strong working relationships
- Highly autonomous and responsible
- Exceptional self-prioritization, multitasking, and time management skills
- Eagerness to quickly learn internal processes and software
- Ability to act as interpreter/translator (Japanese to English, and vice-versa) whenever required
- Travel for business purpose, where required
