Job Summary
The Analyst II, Commercial Funding plays a critical role in the successful fulfillment and closing of commercial mortgage transactions. Responsible for instructing, advancing, and managing mortgage files from commitment through final closing, entering complete loan details in the internal system, coordinating with solicitors and insurance consultants, ensuring all conditions and approvals are satisfied, coordinating the closing with investors, supporting underwriting/origination teams to fulfill conditions, maintaining the loan file in the paperless system, calculating interest adjustments and holdbacks, posting advances, and conducting post-funding reviews to prepare files for audit and transfer to Commercial Asset Management. The role requires attention to detail, ownership of files from commitment to completion, and bilingual English/French proficiency; located in Toronto with a hybrid work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, commerce, law, accounting, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate industry
- Knowledge and understanding of CMHC policies and procedures
- Bilingualism required (French and English)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational ability with a proven track record of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
- Analytical mindset with a focus on identifying and mitigating risk
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Collaborative team player who is willing to take on additional responsibilities when needed
- Able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of an assigned portfolio with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to foster and maintain relationships
