Job Summary
Analyst role in RBC Capital Markets' Indigenous Advisory & Finance Practice in Toronto. Responsibilities include evaluating and analyzing clients' financial needs and developing financial models; supporting transaction structuring and execution with increasing responsibility; producing financial and written analysis of companies and industries; contributing to client meetings and presentations; researching market trends in sustainable finance, energy transition, and Indigenous participation; assisting with execution of equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory assignments; and helping develop thought leadership and client materials on sustainable and Indigenous finance topics. Ideal candidates bring an undergraduate finance/quantitative degree, strong financial analysis skills, excellent verbal and written communication, meticulous attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and collaboration/core professional competencies. Professional designations (CFA/ CPA) are assets but not required; 1-2 years of related experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a quantitative field from a leading university
- Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting and financial theory
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- CFA, CPA or other relevant professional designations are considered an asset, but not a requirement
- 1-2 years of investment banking, private equity, equity research, M&A / corporate development or accounting experience an asset, but not required
