Job Summary
Book record for derivative investment transactions to ensure trade settlement, cash entitlements, and forecasting are complete and accurate. Confirm and settle derivatives transactions by identifying and resolving discrepancies with traders and brokers, while reviewing daily verifications between the book of record and trading system. Analyze and resolve issues on a timely basis, assist in external party reconciliation discrepancies, and complete portfolio and market opening requests including on-boarding requirements. Oversee ongoing market maintenance, manage trade activity for regulatory adherence, and coordinate variation and initial margin movements. Prepare management reports on assets, income, cash flows, and compliance monitoring, highlighting outliers with explanations. Identify and implement process improvements, develop supporting documentation, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of OMERS policies regarding signing authorities and third-party agreements. Provide inputs for audits and foster effective relationships with internal teams, counterparties, and auditors.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in finance or other applicable discipline
- Working towards a professional designation including CFA, CGA and CMA
- Experience in investment operations with comprehensive operational knowledge of derivatives instruments and hedge funds
- Investment accounting systems experience

- Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant industry courses
- Exposure to investment accounting, reporting and audit control practices
- Exposure to Charles River Development (CRD) and Bloomberg
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Keen to learn and continuously improve processes and reports
