Job Summary
Unitization Analyst responsible for accurate financial reporting of capital projects by analyzing and allocating costs to retirement units and FERC accounts. Drives backlog reduction, process improvement, and compliance with regulatory and corporate accounting standards. Partners with Engineering, Project Management, and Operations to obtain documentation, clarify project scope, and resolve data gaps. Performs unitization of capital work orders across Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects; analyzes as-built documentation to assign costs; ensures capitalization in line with FERC and internal policies; supports automation and standardization initiatives; utilizes SAP, PowerPlan, and related systems for cost allocation and reporting; maintains documentation to support audit and SOX controls; opportunities for ongoing process improvement and mentorship within a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Experience with SAP, PowerPlan, or utility work management systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of utility accounting and FERC Uniform System of Accounts (preferred)
- Experience with capital project accounting or fixed assets (preferred)
- Familiarity with process improvement or data analysis techniques (preferred)
