Job Summary
Analyst, Open-end Fund Accountant will maintain the books and records for open-end funds and separate accounts, and report to clients and the portfolio group. Responsibilities include overseeing monthly closing for separately managed accounts, commingled opened funds and employee funds; reconciling portfolio data and calculating management fees/expenses; reviewing reconciliations and work by offshore service providers; reviewing quarterly and annual financial statements under US GAAP; ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance; coordinating audit fieldwork with external auditors; reviewing fund and client-specific performance calculations; assisting with ad-hoc requests from client services and the investment team; overseeing fund-related efficiency and automation projects; and performing other tasks as required. Educational requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA a plus) with a minimum of 3 years relevant accounting or audit experience; strong reconciliation and accounting system knowledge; proficiency in Excel/Word/PowerPoint; experience with Geneva (and World Investor) is a plus, as is PowerBI/Alteryx for data analytics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3 years relevant accounting or audit experience within Big Four public accounting or a mix of public accounting and investment management industry experience
- Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis
- Excellent understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting rules
- Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with Geneva and/or Geneva World Investor accounting systems is a plus
- Experience with PowerBI, Alteryx, or other data analytical tools is a plus
