Job Summary
Chemical Analyst role at Corbion in Blair, NE, responsible for testing/approval of products (in-process and final), packaging supplies and raw materials. Maintains test methods, calibrates and validates instruments, and ensures data accuracy and product quality. Reviews documentation and procedures related to operations, supply chain, and quality control/assurance; analyzes raw materials, in-process, and final products to meet quality standards; supports operations and supply chain to drive first-time-right quality; collaborates with engineering and technology on new product developments and process improvements; completes OSHA safety training; calibrates, monitors, and troubleshoots instrumentation; ensures availability of supplies; provides training to operations personnel; writes/validates test methods; maintains a clean, safe lab environment; performs GMP/SOP/HACCP and related quality, regulatory, environmental, safety, and health guidelines; conducts data entry and reports to quality management; analyzes data and supports QA/QC initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Chemistry or Biochemistry discipline or other STEM degree
- 2 years of experience conducting analysis in a lab environment including wet chemistry knowledge preferred
- High Pressure Liquid Chromatography and Inductively Coupled Plasma experience is highly preferred
- Equipment (pH meter, colorimeter, automated titrator, refractometer, densitometer, autoclave, YSI, spectrophotometer, and Karl Fisher moisture) a plus
- Experience with various software systems for managing and entering data (i.e. Excel, sample manager, SAP, Master Control, etc.)
- Emphasis on multi-tasking and prioritizing
