Job Summary
Analyst, Budget responsible for compiling, analyzing, maintaining, and presenting the district's budget. Key duties include assisting in budget compilation and evaluation, monitoring financial data in the enterprise reporting system, preparing budget reports and amendments, processing cash transactions if applicable, writing and publishing district budget documents, updating procedures, providing cost center support to schools and divisions, coordinating staff activities, and creating ad-hoc financial reports while ensuring compliance with financial laws. This role also involves supervising staff as assigned, developing internal controls for investments and operations, and applying strong computer skills to manage data within the budget process.
Required Qualifications
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in government accounting or budgeting can substitute for degree
- Proficiency in computer skills including uploading and downloading data
- Ability to prepare budget documents and reports
- Analytical skills to analyze and monitor financial and budgetary data
- Ability to develop internal controls for investments and operations
- Experience in creating ad-hoc financial reports
- Strong mathematical and budgeting knowledge
- Understanding of federal, state, and local financial requirements
- Ability to supervise staff as assigned
- Effective communication and collaborative skills
