Job Summary
Broadcom seeks a highly motivated Analog Mixed-Signal High-Speed Design Engineer to develop and validate analog mixed-signal building blocks for high-speed electrical and optical connectivity. Responsibilities include designing low-jitter, low-noise clocking circuitry, TIAs, ADC-based CDR, CTLE and VGA front-end blocks, and advanced clock distribution techniques in CMOS nodes (including 3nm/2nm FinFET). The role requires execution across silicon validation and debugging, collaborative work with internal and external teams, and willingness to travel. Compensation includes base salary 120k-192k plus discretionary bonus and equity; comprehensive benefits. Location: San Jose, CA, US; full-time role. Broadcom is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 6+ years of experience OR PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of experience
- Experience designing high-speed analog and mixed-signal building blocks in advanced CMOS nodes
- Experience designing low-jitter, low-power clocking circuitry in advanced CMOS nodes
- Experience designing low-noise high-speed TIAs
- Experience with ADC-based Clock and Data Recovery (CDR) and analog front end blocks such as CTLE and VGA
- Deep understanding of advanced clock distribution techniques such as resonant and traveling wave clocking
- Proficiency with electromagnetic tools like EMX or similar
- Experience taping out on advanced nodes such as 3nm and 2nm FinFET
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; organized and able to work with internal and customer teams
- Willingness to travel when required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
