Job Summary

AN/SPS-48 Repair Technician in Virginia Beach, VA, providing depot-level repair, testing, and certification of AN/SPS-48 radar assemblies and components for Navy fleets. Performs complex diagnostics across RF, analog, digital, servo, and power-distribution systems; conducts system alignment, calibration, and performance verification per Navy manuals; interprets ECOs and modification instructions; supports teardown, refurbishment, and rebuild of radar components; documents maintenance actions in Navy logistics systems (NALCOMIS, R-Supply); collaborates with engineering teams to resolve issues; maintains strict adherence to ESD, RF safety, and high-voltage safety protocols; travel is <5% and position requires an active Secret clearance.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Associate’s degree in Technical Field / Technical Certification or AN/SPS-48 Navy NEC
  • Experience managing funding, reporting on financial status and projecting resource requirements

  • 3-5 years AN/SPS-48 troubleshooting/repair
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Associate’s degree in Technical Field / Technical Certification or AN/SPS-48 Navy NEC
  • Experience with Navy technical manuals (NAVAIR, NAVSEA, SPAWAR)
  • ISO, NAVSEA, DoD maintenance protocols
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, and automated test equipment (ATE)
  • Strong documentation in Navy logistics and maintenance systems (NALCOMIS, R-Supply)
  • RF, analog, digital, servo, and power-distribution components knowledge
  • System alignment, calibration, and performance verification
  • Ability to interpret ECOs and technical directives
  • Travel <= 5%
  • Navy fleet support experience
  • Interpersonal and written communication skills
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Safety protocols: ESD, RF safety, high voltage safety
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering teams
  • Troubleshooting and repair of radar assemblies, subassemblies, and circuit-card modules
  • Component-level repair and teardown/refurbishment of radar components
  • Experience with depot-level repair environment
  • Quality assurance compliance (ISO, DoD)
