Job Summary
Plan, organize, and supervise all phases of rail infrastructure construction projects, including track, bridges, and stations. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely, cost-effective completion while coordinating with engineers, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies. Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor quality, address challenges, and implement corrective actions. Prepare detailed project documentation, including reports, contracts, and compliance records. Lead and mentor construction teams, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Ensure all activities adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience managing large-scale construction projects, preferably in rail or transportation infrastructure
- Proven knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations applicable to rail infrastructure
- Strong project management skills, including experience with scheduling software and budget management
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearances or certifications relevant to rail operations
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
- Experience working with federal, state, and local transportation agencies
- Familiarity with Amtrak operations, standards, and regulatory environment
- Advanced knowledge of contract administration and negotiation
- Experience with environmental compliance and sustainability practices in construction
