Job Summary
Perform quality assurance coating inspections on bridge painting projects, preparing daily and weekly reports for highway and railroad bridges. Conduct coating condition assessments, assist in preparing coating plans and specifications, and review contractors' submittals for QC operations, worker qualifications, and safety plans. Work as part of a team on larger projects or individually on smaller ones, fostering partnerships between owners and contractors. This role requires a combination of office and field duties, including climbing superstructures and working under bridge inspection vehicles, with potential for weekend, holiday, and overtime work. Temporary relocation may be required for projects throughout the United States and Canada.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma minimum
- AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector
- 5+ years of BRIDGE coating inspection experience
- Must be able to pass a security background check for e-RAILSAFE and TWIC
- Must be able to pass FRA Random Drug Testing
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in Construction Management or B.S. degree from an ABET Accredited College or University is preferred
- AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector will be considered pending ability to acquire AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector within 6 months of employment
- Bridge specialty endorsement is preferred
- Successful completion of SSPC C-3 "Lead Paint Removal", and successful completion of SSPC C-5 "Lead Paint Removal Refresher" within the last two (2) years
- Ability to work in a team environment and foster partnership relationship between the owner and the contractor on bridge coating projects
- Have good command of the English language with good oral and written communication skills and computer software skills, such as excel, word and apps on an iPad
