Job Summary
Conduct quality assurance coating inspections on bridge painting projects for highway and railroad bridges, preparing daily and weekly reports while interacting with contractors and clients. Perform coating condition assessments and assist in preparing coating plans, specifications, and reviewing contractor submittals for QC operations, worker qualifications, and safety plans. Work as part of a team on larger projects or individually on smaller ones, fostering partnerships between owners and contractors. Conduct assessments on fixed and moveable bridges, including large trusses, requiring work at extreme heights and in outdoor weather conditions. Manage tasks involving hazardous materials and respiratory protection.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma minimum
- AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector
- 5+ years of BRIDGE coating inspection experience
- Must be able to pass a security background check for e-RAILSAFE and TWIC
- Must be able to pass FRA Random Drug Testing
- Ability to work in a team environment and foster partnership relationship between the owner and the contractor on bridge coating projects
- Have good command of the English language with good oral and written communication skills and computer software skills, such as excel, word and apps on an iPad
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in Construction Management or B.S. degree from an ABET Accredited College or University is preferred
- AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector will be considered pending ability to acquire AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector within 6 months of employment
- Bridge specialty endorsement is preferred
- Successful completion of SSPC C-3 "Lead Paint Removal", and successful completion of SSPC C-5 "Lead Paint Removal Refresher" within the last two (2) years
