Job Summary
Electromechanical Technician – Downhole Tools responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing downhole electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic assemblies (PCBs, sensors, telemetry modules, power systems, wiring harnesses, housings, bearings, shafts, seals, valves, actuators, pressure chambers). Perform functional testing, pressure/leak/environmental testing, diagnose nonconformances, support root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with Baker Hughes QMS and HSE requirements; maintain documentation and traceability. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and field service teams to sustain tool readiness and drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency. Requires 2+ years in role? Required Qualifications
- Associate degree (AAS/AS) in Electromechanical Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related discipline OR equivalent technical training and career experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience with electromechanical, hydraulic, and downhole tool or similar systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures, and test documentation
- Working knowledge of electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with standard measuring tools and torque-controlled assembly
- Basic computer skills for documentation and test data entry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical manufacturing or service environment
