Job Summary
Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and services on ammonia refrigeration systems, HVAC, water heating systems, and boiler/condenser water chemical systems. Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual facility inspections while maintaining logs documenting time, materials, and parts. Execute work orders based on assigned priority, operate forklifts and aerial platforms, and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and safety guidelines. Report potential quality, food safety, and workplace hazards promptly. Work weekends and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions, and possess basic mathematical skills
- Must be able to utilize manufacturer equipment manuals, troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, and read mechanical drawings
- Must have the ability to run various computer applications that apply to the department and business to an acceptable degree, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Products, and CMMS program, manufacturing and maintenance software
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams
- Must be able to successfully complete the Ammonia Operator training within 6 months of job assignment
- Basic Electrical knowledge to include NFPA 70e requirements
- Are able to meet physical demands required for the position (stand, walk, bend, stoop and climb; able to lift up to 50 pounds)
- Able to work in cold environments and around moving equipment
- Good visual acuity with ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to operate material handling equipment
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 Years associate degree in mechanical or HVAC and /or 2 or more years of relevant experience in food/dairy manufacturing
- Familiarity with Ammonia Refrigeration Systems, PSM, and RMP
- Familiarity with process instrumentation and process drawings, and PLC's
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays
- CARO or CIRO Certification
- HMI/PLC troubleshooting skills
Desired Qualifications
- 2 or more years of relevant experience in food/dairy manufacturing
