Job Summary
Conduct crisis intervention, provide hotline response, and lead street and community outreach to serve unhoused, transient, and at-risk youth and families using a trauma-informed approach. Create program awareness in the community while delivering basic needs support, prevention services, and advocacy activities. Engage one-on-one with youth and groups, collaborating within a team to foster civic engagement and improve lives. This one-year term runs September 2026 through August 2027, with flexible daytime schedules and potential evening or weekend hours. Full-time members receive a living allowance of $20,772 and an education award of $7,395. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley offers health and childcare benefits for full-time members, contingent upon passing background checks.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Access to a vehicle
- Able to successfully engage in one-on-one conversations and connect with groups of youth
- Skilled at motivating and engaging youth and families
- Self-motivated and innovative
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and of unquestionable personal integrity
- Comfortable in one-on-one settings and larger community settings
- Must complete 1,700 hours within the service year (Full-Time)
- Must complete 1,200 hours within the service year (¾ Time)
- Must complete 900 hours within the service year (Half-Time)
- Flexible schedule
- Primarily daytime hours with potential for an occasional evening/weekend
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass identity verification
- Pass a drug screen
