Job Summary
Deliver one-on-one and small-group career advancement sessions while developing Career Success Plans for participants pursuing jobs or advancement. Conduct classroom instruction on goal setting, financial literacy, and career development, and facilitate workshops on job search skills, résumé building, and interview preparation. Provide individualized job coaching support through regular check-ins, motivational guidance, and connecting participants to community resources, agencies, and post-secondary opportunities. Monitor, document, and report participant progress with case notes, ensuring at least 15 hours of career planning and job search skills are tracked for a minimum of 20 assigned participants.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Has not enrolled more than four times in an AmeriCorps State or National Direct Program, or more than five one-year terms for VISTA programs or two terms for NCCC programs
- Strong desire to serve
- Commitment to diversity, teamwork and self-development
- A desire to work with youth
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft experience
- Bi-lingual (English, Spanish and/or Creole)
