Job Summary
Facilitate engaging, age-appropriate American Sign Language enrichment sessions for K–12 students, introducing foundational vocabulary, signs, and expressions while adapting instruction to student proficiency levels and site requirements. Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive environment and exercise professional judgment when selecting instructional materials that align with school policies and assignment objectives. Complete session completion forms after each instructional hour and follow applicable site safety, emergency, and student-protection procedures. Compensation ranges from $50+ per completed instructional service hour, with assignments typically lasting approximately 10 weeks. Concorde Education provides curriculum guidance and resources, while contractors apply their professional judgment to deliver culturally respectful language-learning strategies focused on communication, confidence, and cultural appreciation.
Required Qualifications
- At least 60 college credits, where required by the applicable assignment or site
- Proficiency in ASL with the ability to model accurate pronunciation and age-appropriate language instruction
- Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or leading activities with school-age students
- Strong communication, organization, classroom facilitation, and behavior-management skills
- Availability to provide services for the accepted assignment schedule and communicate schedule issues as soon as reasonably practicable
