Job Summary
Lead an American Sign Language enrichment class for elementary students by teaching basic signs, vocabulary, and communication skills in a supportive, interactive environment. Manage classroom behavior positively while following lesson plans provided by the primary instructor or program coordinator. Arrive on time and prepared to step in when the main instructor is unavailable, ensuring reliable coverage across multiple school locations in El Cajon. This role offers flexible part-time hours on Thursdays, Fridays, Mondays, and Tuesdays from late afternoon until early evening.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with American Sign Language (fluency or strong working knowledge preferred)
- Experience working with children in an educational, camp, or enrichment setting
- Reliable and able to step in when needed
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for teaching and engaging with students
