Job Summary
Provide American Sign Language services to students in the classroom setting and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Interpret classroom instruction and student interactions accurately while supporting students throughout the school day. Submit documentation to the CDE and exercise tact in internal and external communications. This role serves PreK–12 students in Rochester, WA, during the 2026–2027 school year. Candidates must hold RID certification and fluency in ASL and English.
Required Qualifications
- American Sign Language Interpretation Certification
- Passing written test
- Documentation submitted to CDE
- Fluency in ASL and English
- RID certification (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf)
- Interpreter Training Program (ITP) or ASL-English interpreting degree
- Experience interpreting in K-12 classrooms
- Knowledge of IDEA and IEP processes
- Background check and fingerprinting
