Job Summary
ASL Instructor to teach fundamentals of American Sign Language to elementary and middle school students during two summer sessions in La Habra, CA. Responsibilities include developing age-appropriate, engaging lessons, creating an inclusive classroom environment, managing behavior, preparing materials, setting up and cleaning the classroom, and communicating with on-site staff regarding attendance and student concerns. Qualifications: experience teaching ASL or working with students in educational/ enrichment settings; ASL proficiency with teaching experience preferred; strong classroom-management and engaging instructional skills; reliable, punctual, professional communication; ability to create fun, interactive lesson plans. Schedule is part-time and seasonal with on-site, in-person sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Experience teaching ASL or working with students in an educational or enrichment setting
- Proficiency in American Sign Language; ASL teaching experience preferred
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of different ages
- Reliable, punctual, and professional communication skills
