Job Summary
Lead manufacturing engineering projects to improve safety, productivity, and process performance by enhancing existing equipment and introducing new machinery. Identify and resolve production bottlenecks through engineering-driven design improvements while supporting production via the development and continuous improvement of tooling, processes, and equipment. Coordinate cross-functional teams to initiate, investigate, and execute solutions, providing mechanical engineering support for manufacturing and capital projects. Maintain accurate technical documentation using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. Work in an office setting with occasional plant exposure, interpreting engineering drawings and analyzing data to support manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (B. S.) from four-year College or university
- Three to five years' related engineering and project management experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and comprehend common scientific and technical journals, including mechanical drawings and schematics related to complex mechanical systems
- Ability to effectively present information to both top management and the hourly supervisor
- Ability to identify and solve technical and operational problems by gathering and analyzing data, evaluating alternatives, and making sound decisions
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, diagrams, and mathematical data to support manufacturing processes and projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems
- Working knowledge of CAD software
- Experience creating and modifying engineering drawings and models in Autodesk Inventor
- Ability to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments
- Ability to utilize proper body mechanics
- Ability to stand regularly
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to climb or balance
- Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
