Job Summary

The AME Equipment Engineer - Controls is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying control system architectures, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems. The role includes programming and integrating complex automation technologies across various manufacturing systems, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and providing technical support for automation issues. Ideal candidates should have significant experience in high-volume manufacturing automation and relevant educational qualifications.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of experience as a Controls or Automation Engineer with a focus on high-volume manufacturing automation.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming, troubleshooting, and configuring PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff).
  • Experience with programming and integrating industrial robotics (FANUC, KUKA, ABB) and machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).
  • Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols and integration with plant MES systems.
  • Deep knowledge of controls-reliable safety systems design, safety PLCs, and risk assessment procedures.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
  • Strong analytical, structured problem-solving skills (e.g., 8D, 5 Why), and project management capabilities.
