Job Summary
Ambulatory Surgery Team Lead with NYS nursing license, leading coordination of PACU/Endoscopy/ASU/PAT operations. Responsible for staffing coordination, supply management, documentation, infection control, and ensuring safe administration of medications and IV therapies. Oversees and supports team performance, interdisciplinary collaboration with OR Nurse Manager, and ensures adherence to nursing plans of care aligned with physicians’ orders. Requires five or more years of ambulatory surgery experience; ACLS/PALS/BLS certifications required or obtained within specified timelines; strong communication, organization, and leadership skills; ability to work independently with professional judgment; proficient in coordinating schedules and resources to maintain efficient patient flow. The role includes participation in procedure room support, wound care, IV access, and assisting with admissions/discharges as needed.
Required Qualifications
- A valid NYS Nursing License from an Accredited School of Nursing/University/College
- Outstanding organizational ability
- A great team player with excellent communication skills
- Even-tempered with emotional and physical stamina
- At least five years of Ambulatory Surgery experience
- Preferred experience with high-acuity orthopedic procedures, Endoscopy procedures, Transfusions, Cardiac Procedures and dressing changes
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Successful completion of ACLS course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification
- Successful completion of PALS course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification
