Job Summary
Assess, plan, treat, and evaluate patients across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases while assisting physicians in the circulating role during surgeries and procedures. Develop and manage an interdisciplinary care plan that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers through timely communication. Adhere to policies, industry standards, and regulations to ensure a quality patient experience. Prioritize assignments within standardized policies, resolve standard problems using established options, and maintain patient privacy in compliance with PHI guidelines. Work independently and as part of a team in an environment with interruptions. Full-time, 40-hour week rotating Fridays through Tuesdays.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- RN-Registered Nurse of California
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider
- PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support Healthcare Provider
- Two years recent relevant experience
- Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regards to nursing theories, concepts and practices
- Medical terminology
- Anatomy
- Physiology
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry
- Safety precaution policies
- Best practices regarding patient care
- Privacy
- Changes in local/state/federal regulations
- Written and verbal communications skills
- Basic knowledge of computer applications
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Electronic Health Record
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods
- Ability to work independently, as well as being part of the team
- Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI)
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers
- Ability to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people
- Ability to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines
