Job Summary
Assist the physician during surgery and procedures by functioning in the circulating role, accounting for assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation across pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. Develop and manage an interdisciplinary care plan that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors while fostering collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers. Adhere to policies, industry standards, and regulations to promote a quality patient experience, ensuring privacy of protected health information and resolving standard problems using established solutions. Work independently within a team environment with interruptions, prioritizing assignments and utilizing electronic health records. This per diem operating room role supports Sutter Health's outpatient services by delivering comprehensive nursing care in a variable schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- RN-Registered Nurse of California
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- 2 years recent relevant experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices
- Medical terminology
- Anatomy
- Physiology
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry
- Safety precaution policies
- Best practices regarding patient care
- Privacy
- Changes in local/state/federal regulations
- Written and verbal communications skills
- Basic knowledge of computer applications
