Ambulatory Patient Access Representative- Infusion Clinic

Job Summary

Greet and register patients, answer telephone calls, and schedule appointments while pulling and filing medical charts. Obtain accurate demographic, insurance, and physician information, screen registrations for pre-certification and referral requirements, and assist self-pay patients with financial assistance. Communicate insurance differences to customers and establish open communication with clinical staff and all departments. Assist in the shadowing and precepting of new employees while navigating current technology systems. This role supports the infusion clinic at Nationwide Children's Hospital, where a collaborative culture drives innovative care for children.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CPR certification (based on position and as determined by manager)
  • Demonstrated computer skills with the ability to navigate most current technology systems
  • Strong administrative skills
  • One year of health care experience
  • Able to multi-task within in a stressful environment
  • Able to lift 0-10 lbs
  • Able to lift 11-20 lbs
  • Able to push/pull 26-40 lbs
  • Able to push/pull 41-60 lbs
  • Able to reach above shoulder
  • Able to squat/kneel
  • Able to bend/twist
  • Able to handle biohazard waste
  • Able to handle patient equipment
