Job Summary
Manage day-to-day operations of the Ambulatory Clinic by supervising staff, triaging patient phone calls, and reviewing lab reports for abnormal results. Develop and institute policies and procedures for outpatient care flow, coordinate room utilization, and monitor patient-related statistics. Update departmental policies to meet changing needs, perform quality improvement projects, and act as a liaison between physicians, staff, and patients. Rectify problems reported by stakeholders and prepare reports on fiscal, operational, or patient care issues as directed. Represent the department on committees such as the Ambulatory Care Committee.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice in New York State
- Five (5) years of Registered Nurse experience
- at least three (3) years of supervisory or administrative experience
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to exchange accurate information
- Must be able to constantly move about in the office
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced nursing degree
- Experience with triage
- Knowledge of JCAHO and HIPAA standards
