Job Summary
Manage patient flow, triage, and direct patient care for the Ambulatory Clinic RN Care Coordinator role in Radiation Oncology. Liaise between front desk, nursing staff, physicians, and clinic managers to coordinate healthcare services and verify completed orders. Provide nursing support during physician sessions, educate patients on medications and procedures, and document assessments using EMR tools. Coordinate continuity of care following hospital admissions, discharges, and ER visits while managing high-risk patients with multiple comorbidities. Float to Bloch Radiation Oncology Pavilion, KUCC - East, Liberty, North, Overland Park, and Olathe Cancer Center locations as needed. Maintain patient confidentiality and respond to treatment-related phone calls.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing
- Must have current active multistate state Register Nurse (RN) license in good standing in state in which you live OR active single state RN license in good standing in the state you will be working with proof of application of a multistate RN license in the state in which you live.
- Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 3/31/2026.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- High School Graduate or GED
- Bachelor Degree Nursing
- For existing employees in role, BSN required within 5 years
- 2 or more years of RN experience
