Job Summary
Manage patient flow, triage, and direct patient care while serving as a liaison between front desk staff, nursing staff, physicians, and the clinic manager. Coordinate continuity of care for patients following hospital admission, discharge, and ER visits, including managing a high-risk patient registry. Provide clinical support during physician sessions by verifying completed orders, relaying information, and ensuring families understand the plan of care. Educate patients and ancillary personnel on medications, diagnostic procedures, and health maintenance while documenting assessments and progress in the EMR. Respond to treatment-related phone calls and maintain strict patient confidentiality. This role supports the University of Kansas Health System's commitment to excellence in complex care and diagnosis within the Peds Ambulatory Clinic.

- High School Graduate
- Bachelor Degree Nursing
- 2 or more years of RN experience
- Previous medical office experience
- Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS)
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing
- Current active multi-state Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in state in which you live
- Active single state RN license in good standing in the state you will be working
- Proof of application of a multi-state RN license in the state in which you live
- Basic typing and word processing ability
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications
- Must have current active multi-state Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in state in which you live OR active single state RN license in good standing in the state you will be working, with proof of application of a multi-state RN license in the state in which you live
- Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multi-state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 3/31/2026
- Previous medical office experience
